If you didn't already know it, Thomas the Tank locomotive is based on the British Class E2 0-6-0T locomotive. IIRC, built in 1914.

Oh, I knew it. This is a modified E2 that I shortened in Tinkercad for my RWS version of Thomas. It is often debated what Thomas is, because the author had something else in mind, but said he was an E2 because of his stubborn artist who drew him like that. Thomas is often depicted shorter than an E2, so in my (and many others’) headcanon, he is a prototype E2 that was shorter. :)
