What trains did you run today?

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Ran "the morning job" before lunch (to creamery and feed mill).
Will run an "evening job" later, around 9pm. There are 3 evening jobs that get alternated, tonight will be the refrigerated warehouse and my trusty old "Plasticville" freight house" ...

Actually ran over the past two days. I am doing a track cleaning in the staging yard so I moved a lot of trains. Before:

Ran the Mantua 2-6-6-2 logger I have been building from a partially built kit somebody sold on ebay. Ran fine around my layout, but the LED headlight I installed didn't come on. I'm going to have to see if it is the LED or a wire that has come loose somewhere. LED worked fine originally with a bunch of resistors wired in series and stuffed into the tender. If the LED is out, I may not replace it as it would mean disassembling the engine, and I may just run it without a headlight.

My DB150 sprang to life and since all the short circuits were fixed, I was able to run these 2 trains around the layout. They slowed down in spots due to the unhooked up feeders; but they both ran. The DB15o lasted about 20 minutes and overheated and quit; but trains did run. I have the new replacement for the command station and the new power supply on order and they should be here next week. But; for the short time that they ran, I was quit proud of myself for finding out the three problems that caused the short circuits.

I always liked the Mantua 2-6-6-2 logger. I had one several years ago with DC. I would like to have one now; but my curves are a little to tight; my two 4-6-0's are about as big as I can go

I really miss having photoshop and the ability to make nice photos. Here’s what’s running now, a Railpower/Athearn LMX B39-8E and an Athearn SD40-2. The crew didn’t like returning long hood forward on the LMX so grabbed the SD. Both are unlikely local power but that’s the job for today. The combined age of the two models is over 60 years, the SD40-2 is one of my oldest.

Running trains today. No projects. Added a siding to my n-scale track so it is quicker to change so have a freight and a passenger train.
