What do you think of Model Railroad News?

I have only the deepest respect for anybody daring enough to produce a monthly hobby magazine (I mean this in earnest) I have written this review of the August Issue of Model Railroad News.

I would like hear your personal views of Model Railroad News, positive or negative. Any thoughtful positive or negative responses to my assesment of this monthly periodical is more than welcomed. I don't want this thread to become inflammatory or rude, or incite any personal remarks, I'm just trying to get some discussion going, although you guys are pretty good natured anyways I doubt I have much to worry about.

So, what do you think of how Model Railroad News is reporting on advances in our modeling world?

I'm certaianly not an employee of their company, I'm just reviewing the magazine as I purchased it a couple of weeks ago, reading through it carefully, and making notes as I go along.

NOTE: the photography is intentionally in soft focus, I doubt the magazine would appreciate you reading their magazine without purchasing it.

The strong point is the unbiased reviews of MR products. I get the feeling that they review products much more fairly than MT or MRC, probably because they don't depend as much on ad revenue.

The weak point were all well pointed out in your review. Bad grammar, bad spelling, typos, errors in pictures and captions. It looks like many of the articles are written by people who are not model railoraders so some of the blatant errors get by simply becuase they don't recognize them as errors. I've decided to give up buying print MRR magazines since we have so many good internet sources. If I was still in the market for another magazine, I'd give it a 5 on a 10 scale for value, accuracy, and usefulness.
