OK, so i recently bought a group of 5 athearn genesis SD70/75 frames ect... Well i thought thats what they all were till a bit of closer looking. 3 are correct and the other 2 I am not sure about.

IN the pics below you can see there is a differance the bottom frame is a tad bit longer then the top. The top one is the 70/75 frame.

So what is the bottom frame for any ideas?? So heres a few pics

The front of the bottom frame looks identical to the back. It looks darn neat identical to the sd70/75 frame though.

Nope, its a MAC. I have the SD70's SD75's and MAC's, the MAC is the only one with a chassis that looks like that.

I can take photos of mine if need be.

The SD70/75 series frames are 72' 4", the MAC is 74' 3". Odd part is the SD75 and the late SD70MAC have the same HP ratings.

That's because that's an SD75M, not a MAC. The cab looks like it might have come from a MAC, however, the blower housings identify it as an SD75. The SD70M has the same style, on the conductor's side only, and the SD70MAC has an angular style.

Wonder if parts of this engine have been redecaled then also. Was just looking at the small stuff on it and it says sd75mac. grrrrrrr

I'd pretty much say yes, as there is really no SD75MAC.

You could argue that the SD70MAC's with Tier 1 radiators (flares) should be SD75MAC's, as they're 4300hp units, vs the standard 4000hp MAC's.
