What Compressor to use

I was wondering.
What Kind of compressor could I use with a badger 150 airbrush? I know there are a lot out there but which is the best?

Thanks a lot.

but which is the best?
That sure is a loaded question.

The best is one that:
Maintains a well regulated air pressure (a tank helps).
Delivers enough air volume for the brush.
Has a filter and moisture trap.
Is quiet enough not the bother your family or neighbors.
Small enough not to be in the way all the time.
Inexpensive enough to afford it.

Here is a good read on airbrushes. Don does discuss compressors.

Here is the compressor I bought. It works fine for a Badger Anthem 155. It quiet enough that it doesn't disturb the wife watching TV directly above the basement.

I would agree with just about everything waltr said. Hobby compressors have the advantage of being quiet. If this is not important then there are plenty of cheap alternatives no further away than Wal-Mart of Home Depot. if you want a quiet compressor, I have used both of these:

Both are excellent compressors. I have done demonstrations at shows and have had them cycling on and off all day without either one getting more than warm to the touch. No pulsating. Pretty much maintenance free. All hoses and adaptors are included when you buy them.
