Received my Kato EF57 1 today. It has a slotless motor in it, so no real work for me. I am going to remove the traction tires later. Another boxcab to add to the collection.
Saw that there was only 1 left on the jungle site, so I clicked buy now. One day later, it arrived.
Microace ED 42 1. Electric loco with side motion. The only thing bad about this company is that they do not provide any knuckle couplers. I made some Kato couplers fit.
I've wanted to get some UK coaches for a while but most do not have pick ups for lighting. The aftermarket pickups did not work for me for some reason where they put a wiper on the axle. You only get two wheels per rail and and I seemed to get corrosion at that contact point.
Found out that Bachmann UK has axle end pick ups on some of their coaches. Sent an email to Bachmann UK and they confirmed that the restaurant car came with them, so I put a Restaurant Mini Buffet (RMB) car and a 1st class corridor on order. Came in today.
The RMB has some nice details, so I also bought some table lamps that will get installed with the interior lights.
Got a couple new cars in the mail today from Midwest Model RR.
Atlas Master 7550 "waffle sided" boxcar to diversify the fleet a bit. Couldn't pass it up after my blue one that I got for Xmas.
Intermountain 5161 covered hopper with the BNSF legacy logo for the St. Louis-San Francisco Railroad AKA "Frisco". Found out what the Frisco logo is supposed to be when I visited the Museum of the American Railroad in Frisco, TX last year. Not what I would've guessed.
My first Intermountain car. The grain train is slowly getting longer. Can't wait to run these!
Received an N scale Kato ED19. This is a boxcab built by Baldwin with Westinghouse innards. Bought this as a brand new used item. Cost more than it would have when it came out, but it is discontinued. And, it is a boxcab, so...

Wow you are always getting nice new trains, you must have a gazillion dollars.
Do you collect mostly engines, they're always so detailed and always look great.
I found an EF56 and EF13 at the used stuff website. Ordered the 56 before I found the 13, so the 13 will have to wait until next month's cash infusion.
Got a used Hornby N2 0-6-2 in the mail today. About 40 bucks. Runs great and is pretty clean. Will be taking it apart and giving it a good clean out anyway and will be installing a headlamp. The motor takes up most of the cab space, so nothing much to do there. I saw an OOBill episode that he did recently, so know what to expect.
Went to a small local train show on Saturday, looking for a small switcher to convert for a special project. I found a couple other things as I looked around. I spent less than $60.00 including admission to the show. One of my better train show trips.
A couple Kadee cars of fallen flag railroads.
A couple of DIY projects. The top one is an old (50s) Ulrick kit of a track cleaning car. The wheel sets are already pre-rusted. This should be an interesting build. Even the bottom of the box is separating. If it works, it will quite a saving from the $50.00 track cleaning cars I see at the hobby shops.
The two flatcars need some TLC , careful reassembly and some of my homemade pipe loads. .
Lastly, I did find a Walters switcher in good shape to be repainted and decaled. I have to check that it runs well and get it apart to clean the running gears. Wish me luck!
I jumped on a new airbrush. Has the same adjustment as a full-size paint gun. Came with 2 caps, Fan & Round pattern. Air brushes shoot a round pattern; the fan pattern helps with the coverage, with no streaking
It took right off and seems pretty good. A little louder than a Kato, but not obnoxious at all. A very good looking locomotive, I got it for my Gorre & Daphetid layout.
