Do you know if they compare better or about the same as Rapido in your opinion? Just curious in case i ever have to pick between the two.
Gary I'm not sure. I only have some bi-level commuter cars and the F59PH locomotive from Rapido so it's not apples to apples, but those cars I have are pretty nicely detailed. I'm definitely tempted to get more of Rapido's stuff.

I have experience both personally owning both and weathering both.

As an owner. The Rapido I own are the center beams, bulkhead flats and a box car offered via HomeShops.net and they are wonderfully detailed cars. The center beams are a POS and the bulkhead flats are not much better. The boxcar both looks and runs very well. The Center beams and bulkhead flats literally were in pieces in the cartoon when I opened them. Pictures and comments got me a decent discount but should never have occurred. As a modeler they were easy fixes for me. I have been told the current bulkhead flats and center beams have been corrected. They look and run great enough after I fixed them, I just ordered more

As an owner of many ScaleTrain cars, they are also nicely detailed and even the operator version of tank cars are plenty detailed. IMO ST makes a superior car to Rapido but only because the QC seems better on the freight cars. I would not hesitate to order any ST rolling stock.

I know this is a late response but hope it helps

I made by last freight car purchases for the year using most of my budget for 2025! I want to beat the possible tariff price increases. Freight cars and locomotives I’m more than good for 2025 now. I am speculating on centerbeams and bulkheads by ordering 10 extras and extra diesels the sd40-2f’s and sd40-2’s from Bowser

I did order a couple throttles and circuit breakers for the layout. I am looking for a NCE Sb 5 booster

Picked up 5 used flat cars today but came with 6 tanks, 3 pieces of artillery and a personnel carrier. This will be shipped out to the war effort with the next convoy.

Military trains are always cool! Here in Rawlins, WY, I saw a train of M109s and their support vehicles passing through a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get any photos, since we were driving over the bridge that crosses the tracks, and the train was moving fast.

I just bought one of the new Athearn SP GP9E's from Yankee Dabbler. The price, with shipping, was less than I could buy the engine from anywhere else, online or local. The low nose version I bought is a little later than I model, but it will still be fine on my layout. I grew up seeing these all over 1970's San Jose.

I'm just going to pretend it's a late phase 1 from the 1960's and not a Phase III from the early 1970's
