Gramps,
Photo is great.
Got some work done on the engine shop over the holiday. Still playing with the aptature on the camera to get the light correct. Its getting there.
Christmas on the layout.... I got a little caught up with my cards and the yearly holiday gig, so just today I managed to finish the scene. I submitted a night-time version for the contest.
Hey gang. I happened to catch this Eastbound NS Freight,at a small town in East Central Alabama, called GoodWater. GoodWater is roughly between Sylacauga, and Alexander City Ala. Hope y'all enjoy the photos. William. I call this 9727 East.
Spent some time in the workshop this afternoon. Got another work bench built for the machine shop, this one I made the drawers deeper and opened them both up. Also had time to build the office walls and get them installed, those are blueprints hanging on the one wall, did not have space for a true blueprint rack in this space. Also added the spare typewriter ribbon (red/black tin) on the typing stand. The shelving unit holding all of the spare blocking for the lathe is also new today, even did a large caliper sitting on the floor for the operator.
Josh, nice pickup and trailer. Now you need a real lawnmower on there.
Chad, good looking engines and enginehouse. Your camera still seems to be getting confused with color balnce, as the straight on shots show the enginehouse as blue and side shots make it look gray. Study up on white balance settings in your camera's manual. I think that's your problem.
Charles, very nostalgic holiday street scene. Kind of hard to remember what downtown looked like at Christmas before malls.
Hi, William, and Merry Christmas. I know right where that shot was taken - good job. Goodwater has to be one of the most Godforsaken towns in Alabama.
I've been going over the two MR related items I got yesterday. The boxcar will be losing it's roofwalk and the brake wheel will have to be moved down. The diner will require some minor repair work.
Jeffrey, with some repair work and a little paint, that diner will be a real nice little structure. Amazing how thick those old BB roofwalks look from the side now.
Good thing about LEGO is the functionality of your rolling stock to be conceived online. Here's an old attempt at the NSC 2640 ft3 open top, bearing the pieces in the program.
