Weekend photo fun, Dec 28th 07 to whenever

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. Online since 2002, it's one of the oldest and largest model railroad forums on the web. Whether you're a master model railroader or just getting started, you'll find something of interest here.

It's true, NYSW F45.

NZACe, If you aren't impressed with his work, why would you even waste your time, and mental ability on a such a useless, trite comment.

Put your money and models where YOUR mouth is and show us some of your work. I would certianly love to see your better-than-factory laser-sharp painting and decaling jobs, with 100% realistic weathering and prototype specific decaling, INSIDE and out. Surely someone of your intelligence must make quick work of this, no? ;)

Very Well put. I like logging on and seeing what jeffery has done recently. Either new pics new models, anything really. If you dont like it... well go start some crap somewhere else cause honestly, we dont really care.

You know what, I actually don't want to see a flame war on this board. So let's break it up or take it elsewhere. If we do take it elsewhere, I have a mouthful to say...

There's a little red and white triangle with an exclamation point at the top right of each post. This is to report an inappropriate post to the moderators. It will soon be taken care of. Responding to the post gives the troll what he seeks - attention.

Lets take it elsewhere, I'm sorry to those who may have been affended, the old medication (for depression) aint working so well lately.

NZACe, your account is now locked. Normally, a thread such as this would be quarantined here on the forum and the moderators would have input as to how to proceed. In this case, I'm not willing to penalize the rest our faithful members by doing that with a holiday weekend photo fun thread. Bob can decide if your account gets unlocked or the ban stays permenant.

Jeffery, our apologies for the rude comments you were subjected to. We're all friends here and you are a valued member. Please forget this happened and proceed as usual...

Jim, thanks for reporting this thread.

Josh, thanks for quoting NZACe. Had you not done so, I'd have had a hard time trying to come up with a solution here.

That's all folks. Let's get back to an enjoyable model railroad discussion among friends!

My apologies also Jeffrey . My parents always said if you don't have something nice to say to someone don't say it . Thanks Grande man for getting rid of the odious offender .

You're welcome. I was going to PM him, but due the response that was already there, I figured I'd just reply so anyone who was new would see it, and us oldies as well...

Jeffrey

Jeffrey you paint them locos anycolour you want. Im a strong believer in

"Its my railroad, Ill do what I want"

Keep the pictures coming I look forward to your weekly updates, part of the fun of WPF is that you get to se so much variation of styles, layouts ect.

It doesn't bother me much. I'm pretty much used to it. It just gets me that so many people use mental or medical problems as an excuse for doing such things. I have mental and medical problems that I've had to live with all my life and I don't treat people that way. Such problems are not an excuse. If I can treat people well while dealing with the negative effects of my problems (and they are numerous) they can do the same. I try to treat everyone fairly and I'm pretty easy to get along with.
:)

Very exciting stuff, backdrop in situ, later i'll glue the scene on

Thanks, Eric, for keeping this place sane. :)

Steve, now why didn't I think of that? I could have put up the backdrop THEN the scenery. :) How are you going to glue something on that? If it's spray adhesive, do it before you get any track down. It's a devil to clean that stuff off track. I have personal experience. :D

More Lights

Flushed with success I have had to add some more lights :D

In the "Brewery" in the Brewery loading bay and at the fueling point! There's that much light pollution the little people wont be able to see the stars anymore.

I think I prefer the white light to the amber "sodium" affect. Any thoughts ???

John,
That's the trouble with adding lights. A few here, a few there, and suddenly you've got a hundred. Just go out and get some spools of wire and get ready for the addiction to take over. :)

John, I kind of like the yellow. They seem to use them allot of outdoor lighting around here. Less "light pollution" I assume.

Yes, yellow outside, white inside, looks great though whatever colour you use.
Todays job, glueing 12ft of backdrop onto MDF, easier said than done. What we had was 10 seperate photos which have to be cropped to overlap each other 1/8" , pretty easy with the giant giloutine i have, second was sticking them on with PVA spread on very thin with a scrap of styrene, the photo paper wrinkles up and looks terrible at this stage, after an hour in front of the fan heater the paper shrinks and the wrinkles dissapear leaving a very nice job, the reverse side was painted to keep it from absorbing any moisture and warping. i have another scene and may mount this onto thick stryene they use at sign makers, sticking the paper on with double sided tape.

anyway enough babaling on, heres the end result, it's a coal fired power station with coal stockpiles behind a tree line, it suits my flat layout perfect

Steve: Awesome work!!! looks great, where did you get this photo???

John: Like in real life, I think that a mix of tipes is the best solution, sodium for the street and white inside buildings.

Jeffrey: I've always admire the way you are working all time in your layout, and it's so nice to come here, and see that you're posting almost everyday while other people (like me) sometimes it's just sleeping. Thanks for share your work.

Mike i got it off ebay from a guy here in England, they are cheap to, £13 GBP for 12ft, can't beat that
