EngineerBill, what did you use for the power lines. They have a nice look and even sag a bit? Good pics all around.

The power lines were done with black bead string(craft stores). All strung individually, and 'hand' sagged if you will.....Thanks for enjoying.

Johnny, defunct? Move on to something else?

Well, At least that layout is gone. Guy in Chicago bought it to incorporate into his. Right now work is on a 16' X 4' diorama of the Ringling car shops located here in Wisconsin. MadCoW power survives and operates into the aforementioned shops...

Have a good one, Josh.

Johnny, I remember saeeing pictures of your layout before and always being impressed by the utility lines. Were you a lineman for a power company? I'd guess you were givent the correctness of the details I see.

Gramps, nice photo as usual but someone's getting a good deal if they only paid for a 44 tonner. The looks more like a GE 100 or 110 ton locomotive.

Jeffrey, that poor F unit needs a decent burial. :)

....

AHM marketed that loco as a GE switcher but the only similiar thing from GE I could find is a 50T. It is similiar in that it is 4 wheels and a center cab. The model is much more angular than the prototype. Nearly all the GEs of which I found photos, showed two trucks after they reached 40T. The exceptions where two examples of the 50T and some dock pushers which looked totally diffent than the above. Modern locos don't go much above 35T/axle so a 2 axle 100T loco probably would never happen.

Tons of industrial loco photos can be found here:

Hi Paul: You're right, that is an AHM switcher, I actually have 2 of them. They are some of the junk I had as a teenager. Neither one runs, so I just used one of them for Sept. photo contest, they were the only small locos I had. But, it is interesting to me to try to figure out what they really represent. Thanks for taking the time to investigate.

Bump! (Somebody went and posted to last weeks WPF thread so I thought this one for this week ought to be brought back to the top.)

Great start to the weekend folks!

Johnny so sad to know that the Mad Cow is no longer with you. Sure hope you have something new in mind. Great photos BTW.

Grampy I am become a big fan of your work! No matter what that loco on the flatcar is, it is a great shot.

Gp-9

Nice start to the weekend . Johnny nice to see the MadCow again . Here's some photos of Buffalo & Pittsburgh 203 a GP-9 that was sitting along the siding if a gravel operation outside Alleghany , New York . !!!!!:D:D

Ok Jerome...Here it is...

Now, the one thing that I didn't care for on his was the weathering. I have never seen a unit like that at a elevator...most of them have grain dust all over them (white/yellowish vs. black and grime). SOOO....I gave it a quick white dust job, and this is what I came up with....
