what's the size difference between pike's stuff "the shops" and the walthers engine facility? i'm looking at the walthers kit, but if the pike's stuff is just as big and cheaper i'll just go that way.

The Pikestuff "the Shops" measures in at 9 11/16' x 11 11/16" x 3 3/4"

The Walthers Diesel House measures in at 9 1/4" x 16 7/8" x 6 1/2" The Walthers kit being much taller and longer, has room in it to add an overhead crane and other super-detail parts.

Recently completed a sawfilers' car in On30 by Banta. Fits onto a Bachmann On30 flatcar. I detailed the interior as nothing was included:

Fantastic job Bob!!! That is a great looking piece and the interior is incredible all the way down to the pin-up girl on the back wall. ;)

Bob amazing!!!!!!! The detail is absolutely incredible! I can only hope to be able to produce anything close to that. Wow!

Bob, this is right up to par with all the other magnificent models you have created. Nicely done. I love the steer head on the lead outer wall.

Here are a couple of images taken this weekend. Seneca Sub Yard is as sunny as ever (wonder why), with plenty of local action for the railfan.

That playground scene kinda brought up and idea I Have. They have models to make up an amusement park. Lakeside in Denver has a Live steam train that you can ride around the lake. I was thinking of including such a park in my Layout. I was going to have a z scale train but kit bash it to look like a ride in the park with HO scale people riding on it maby around a lake.

I've been wanting to do the same thing! I want a railroad museum on my layuot, so I can put all the equipment that is outdated for my layout there. The American Z scale stuff just goes for more than I want to spend right now, though.

One day, though. :D

The boys at JTEX have been busy this weekend patching new acquisitions. After a complete rebuild and patch, they will be leased out.

This is my Memorial day project.
I installed the "No Jumpers fence" on the overpass. This whole thing is scratch built. The fence is brass rod soldered together. I set them into the supports along the side of the bridge. I have 1 more rod to solder on this side and then 4 more on the other side. For the fence material itself, I was thinking of aluminum screening or the toule from a craft store. Does anyone have an opinion or other suggestions?

The sidewalk is just scribed styrene. The side wall barriers are Rix Products.

The lattice bracing is real basic since you're not going to see it to well. I just wanted the look of it not the headache of installing in between all the I-beams.

These are the parts I used to make the fence posts and supports. It's 1/32 brass rod and Evergreen's .100 x .125 styrene. I knocked off the bottom corner, then drilled a #68 hole in the top to press fit the rod in.

To get the bend consistent I used my large Exacto knife handle.

I used 8' HO spacing for the brackets That is the pencil marks. On the sloped sides on each side of the main bridge, I made sure the brackets stayed vertical.

This is the first horizontal brass rod, .020" . Let my tell you, it ain't easy soldering right next to styrene.

And the next 2 rods, with 1 more to go on this side.

That's it until later tonight... after the kids go to sleep.;)

I've been busy on the centerpiece for the park and I must say it's a thing of beauty. The old K4 has been cleaned up and has had a cosmetic restoration. It doesn't look like the same locomotive.

Bridal veil material is often used for chain link. Is that the same as toule?
