Weathering car under bodies

OK, I did the wheel sets and trucks, so I figured I'd show how I also do the under bodies of freight cars. So without further ado............

Here's 3 Walthers Autoracks fresh out of the box.

Here's the same parts with a coat of Floquils grimey black.

And here are the bodies with the metal weight being rusted together. I always spray heavy where the wheels would splash rust/dirt upwards under the car. Most people will never see this, but I like to do it. ;)

And the last parts are the frame assemblies.

Then it's just a matter of weathering the cars, and final assembly. But that will be later on ;)
 
I like that modular method of weathering the undersides. It leaves you free to weather the rest of the car as you please but still have the underbody look like it's seen some miles.
