Hi all, I got this from my wife last year and after some very much needed tuning and so on, I decided to weather it as well :D . It was marked for NYC, but I erased the markings with a fibre glass pen.
This is how it looks weathered and marked for my freelance RR:

I used a mix of washes, drybrushes, gouaches, pastels and airbrush for this.
All in all, I´m quite satisfied with it.

I have bought some figures for the locomotives:

It was some need for some work crews for the yard duties

It looks a bit more "yard like" now I think... [:D]

Thanks, the trucks are made by priming them with dark grey followed by a coat of dullcote into wich I add pastel powders using a stiff brush.

It is important to use caution, as to much tampering with the powders will eliminate the crusty appearance.

I then add some more dullcote followed by a wash of raw umbre.
