Warning Lok Sound download to TCS board

The other day I installed a 21 pin Lok Sound decoder on a 21 pin TCS WOW mother board. A friend of mine decided to do the same but had some problems with the installation. He called Lok Sound and they told him the mating will work but do not try to download a new sound into the decoder while the two are mated. It will ruin the decoder. It has something to do with TCS's Keep Alive capacitors. If your going to download a new sound it has to be done when the two are not joined together.

Nothing happened to my board Ken because I didn't try to change the sound file. You can treat it as a normal setup as long as your not downloading something into the decoder. That what my friend tried to do. I can change any CV or CV's I need to but but download a new sound file. That's out. I would have to put it back in an ESU mother board download it and then place it back on the TCS board. I like the TCS boards because their Keep Alive out performs the ESU ones.
