Hello, everyone.

For my first North American scenery project, I decided to build a freight terminal using a Walthers Brick Freight House kit (reference number 532954). However, I want to give the building a slight personal touch, namely painting it and then weathering it. I've seen several videos on YouTube, but some do it one way, others do it another. You always learn something new, of course, but if anyone here has done this type of work before and would like to share some tips, I would be grateful.

I usually use a light grey wash to highlight the mortar joints and wipe it from the brick face before it dries. After the mortar lines dry is may use another light wash on selected brick to age it.

I think the most important detail is to get rid of the plasticky shine.

If this is your first Walthers kit, be aware that the directions in many of their kits leave a lot to be desired. Study them several times
before attempting any construction.

If you have put Walthers kits together before than you are very aware of this. Take your time and it will come out beautiful

Yes, yes. I've assembled a few kits from this brand, and unfortunately, I know how it is. With calm and a lot of patience, everything will fall into place.
