I am glad I don't shop WM. Would rather pay twice the price than support a company that has ruined so many small mom and pop operations, my wall paper store being one of them. They were selling double rolls of wall paper cheaper than I could buy single rolls from the same manufacturers that I was selling for.
I feel your sentiments, but unfortunatly my budget drives me to it... I wish I could afford to keep maw and paw in business, and I try when I can...
anyway.. back to spraypaint...
Larry, they ruined our florist and nursery business too. Unfortunately, it's called capitalism and people who really want to support local business vote with their wallets. The same people that told me thay hated Wal-Mart were right there when it opened.
Anyway, check out some of your local auto parts stores. They sometimes have good deals on basic colors of spray paint.
Over the past few months I have noticed a run on the spray paint. I just chalk it up to clearing older stock. As I have guessed the new stuff is higher priced . Flat black and grey primer are my staples. No shortage around here.
Whenever WM sends out their price checkers to all the local mom & pop stores to find out what they are selling, then in about 30 days WM starts carrying the same thing, but at half the cost. Here in Arcadia we have a very, very busy Ace Hardware that I shop at quite often(owned by a friend). They were selling a line of cabinet parts & accessories that everyone in town(contractors)really liked. About a month later WM started handling the same item, but a lot cheaper. Ace didn't lower their prices & WM hasn't sold hardly any of theirs. I can't afford to pay from $7.95 to $11.95 for a can of spray paint that sells for $1.12 to $3.97 at WM. WE had Neisners here(franchise) for about 15 years & then TG&Y moved in & they were here for about 6 years & then WM moved in. You know what happened to the other 2. Anyway, back to spray paint.
I live in a small town & we have 4 large chain grocery stores plus WM. We have about a dozen small mom & pop grocery stores & 6 major Auto Parts dealers & WM. They all carry spray paint, but I still buy mine at Wally World.
