Hi Model RR fans,
Happy New Year!
My brother has HO scale trains and would like to know the value if any.
I have no idea what they are but they are old since they've been boxed for about 20 years!
We don't live close or I would take a look.
What websites do you recommend where he can determine the value?
Thanks for your help,
Regards,
Paul
I would suggest looking on Ebay to see what cars from the same manufacturer sell for.

Hello
Paul.
Yes, like
timlange3 said, look up each thing on eBay and check the sold. Now,
where are you going to sell them matters. A lot of people will check eBay and then think they can get that at a garage sale, and that's not how it works. He needs to think about this, and
if he wants to sit on the items and get a better price, or
just get them out of the way.
If you can get photo's I might be able to help.
If the price is right (If he was shipping), I might be interested in what you have. Never know!

Were probably going to need more information here. Dont know of any websites for train values.
As suggested by Tim EBay would be a great place to start.
What brands and models does he have? Are they in original boxes? They will be worth a bit more with original boxes. If they are run of the mill
Tyco, Bachmann, etc.... then some of them may not be even worth the shipping.
To get the best return, its going to take some effort on his part to research what he has and test them to see if they run. If he has a club nearby
maybe talk to them as they would know what he has and if anything is "collectable".
As the old saying goes: They will be worth what someone is willing to pay for them!
Another though:
Is he interested in the hobby? If so, keep them and enjoy them!
This after-all is the worlds greatest hobby!
