I'm working on designing a small switching layout for my nephew (8 years old) who just bought his first set of Bachman ez track. Currently he has track and 1 car and is still saving up for the rest. :)

I'm trying to design a switching layout that he could use independently or turn it into a loop on the floor. I'm trying to keep it small and light so he can keep it under his bed when not in use.

Would love to hear your thoughts on this design. I'll probably hand lay the track as the switches will be cheaper that way. The two 44401 (18" Radius) lifelike sections he would add from what he already has and complete the loop with 4 9" straights on the other side.

The two crossover next to each other are a waste, It would be better to put a right hand crossover connected to the right 44401.

Thanks. I like that idea. Always good to get someone else's perspective. I left the position of the 44401 switches so they will still match up with the 9" sections on the other side.
