Here are a few shots of UP's 4-8-4 at a stop-over at Liberty, MO en route to Kansas City's Union Station.

Great shots, Bob. I just showed them to my wife and she couldn't get over the size of the engine:eek: . Sometimes we forget just how massive these things are when working with our models.;)

Yeah, Rex... I think it was a year and a half ago when the UP's Challenger rolled thru, and for the first time in quite a while I again felt the magic of being dwarfed by such a "giant".

Brad,
Do you have these in the photo gallery? I looked and could not find them there. I almost did not look at this thread, we've all seen this overexposed bad boy many times. That would have been a big mistake, your talent is immense! I am grateful you have shared these with us.

Thanks very much!

Joe

I am very lucky to have seen and actually touched the Challenger in her engine house 10 years ago. It was the last trip my Dad and I took together and we showed up at a slow time and got a personal tour by the Challenger's Fireman. She is the most awesome piece of machinery I have ever seen. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I want to go back.:(
