Union Pacific and BNSF question

I live in Harrisburg PA were Conrail got purchased by Norfolk Southern, but I noticed recently they have a Union Pacific AC or Dash 8, and 2 BNSF engines that they use also. How come they are on NS's line? Just courious.

Run though power, happens quite often now-a-days.

Often, excess power is leased to railroads in need of it. NS provided power to other roads in the 90s, so this may be NS collecting their power hours back.

Run through power, but it also allows the host RR to pay back hours to the other RR. On the old B&O, you'll most likely see solid sets on unit coal trains, while the UP merchandiser will be solid UP (like Q351).
