I’ve had this idea for many years. Thanks to Tom (TLOC) giving me lots of inspiration I dug them out and got started on them this evening. The log bunks are from Details West and I used MiG. Washes for the floors and Caterpillar Yellow from Majic paint I got from Rural King. I’ll have more updates later.

Very nice weathering. I have only done weathering on some structures I've built. Haven't started on the rolling stock, as yet.
Thanks for the complement Glen. I think this is my only 4th Rolling Stock but I also build Millitary Models and weathered several of those. I’m not the best at this Rolling Stock but I’m trying glad your like it.

Those logs bunkers look great. I need some for HO but have too many projects going on now. Maybe when Iget back home in April. Thanks for some inspiration

This morning I lightly sanded the inside of the bunks and took a Graphite pencil and weathered the inside of them as well as the bottom of the Bunks. I don’t want to over weather these cars as I want them to still have slightly new lookView attachment 143594View attachment 143595View attachment 143596View attachment 143597View attachment 143598View attachment 143599
Ihave used graphite on a couple of the pulp cars. It makes it look like the logs have rubbed off the paint and it hasn’t started rusting yet. Again well done on theses

Thanks Tom. I use the graphite pencil a lot on my Millitary Models for years thought I would give it a try on these cars and I’m happy the way it turned out

Thought I would give a update on these cars. One is almost finished I have to weather the trucks add Kadee Couplers and go out in my woods and fine some old tree limbs for the logs. I used Firewood scraps from the the fireplace where our wood was sitting for the debris on the log car hope wrap this one up soon.
