Ok i got my train back from mark today and was playign around with it for a while. Im not sure if I hit a key to create a mute button or what. But all of a sudden when I go to turn on the ditch lights the sound shuts off. Everything else works fine but there is no sound. What did I do? How do I get it to stop shutting the sound off when I turn on the ditch lights?

im a big dumb idiot. I hit the number 8 key and i guess thats the mute button. Cuz when I hit it the sound came back and the horn was going along with the bell since I had just hit those keys.

Don't feel bad, I did the same thing with my SD45-2. I thought I killed the decoder but it was only that I shut the engine down the time before and forgot all about it and when I pulled it out this weekend it wouldn't run at all. After saying every cuss word I knew it then dawned on me what I did wrong. It's all good now.

I and dozens of others have had "I'm an idiot" moments with the QSI decoders, too. We forget that we have placed the decoder asleep by double-tapping F9 three times when we want to shut them down for long term. We go to play with the engines, dial in the address cab number, and......nuthin'. What the...!

Ahhh Yes I have done that recently. I knew there was a shutdown sequence with doubletap F9, but I didn't know I had to restart it with doubletap F6 to start it up again. I was like, what did I do. Reading the manual helps a alot.
