I just got done installing a Soundtraxx Tsunami into Kato C44-9W.
First I removed the couplers and then the shell.
Here is what the factory light board looks like.
Next remove the light board.
I then trimmed the truck lead wires a little over an inch.
Mount the Tsunami decoder onto the motor. Make sure you wire the engineers side of the motor lead to motor pos. I used 3mm Warm White LED's and 1 K Ohm resistors for the headlights. I removed the factory fuel tank and installed a 28mm speaker from Litchfield Station.
The shell is now ready to reinstall. I used a piece of double sided foam tape to stick the keep alive capacitor to the top of the shell before mounting the shell back onto the frame.
Here is a YouTube video of the C44-9W being tested.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PEc3VinZu_Q
