I went with a buddy that sets up at the huge Wheaton IL train show, along with a nice slug of German trains for my Marklin layout. I picked up an old Alco Models brass EMD SW1500 with issues for a great price. Both truck bolsters were missing, along with the drive shaft between the trucks. I found 1 bolster and the drive shaft for the motor to truck in the bottom of the box. I fabricated a second bolster and soldered both on the chassis tonight. Next up I need some replacment axle gears to replace the split ones in the trucks. I believe NWSL still makes those. I plan to replace the open frame motor with a can motor. The previous owner painted it, fairly nicely in a pvt road, dark(almost black) blue with a white frame stripe, black fuel tank and black trucks. Lettered Midland and South. I am thinking about having it stripped and painted for the Manufactures Railway in thier nice green paint scheme with silver trucks. Atleast the previous owner drilled out the lights on both ends for bulbs, saves me the trouble. Mike

Mike, I was at that show!!! Too bad I don't know what you look like, I'd have said hello. I found some great deals too. Spent too much money, as usual.
