Years ago this was the heart of the New York Central's lock on Northeastern freight traffic. While PRR, Erie and others picked away from the New Jersey area, this was really the heart of the NYC. And now years later is really the lone survivor. NS has the Sunbury ex CN & D&H line with maybe one train a day to Binghamton & Beyond. Some traffic through New Jersey into PA. This video was taken yesterday from around 2:30 to 5:30 and really is the typical traffic. More freight loads pass thru here in an afternoon than all the rest of the rail access to the New York Metro & New England from all the other railroads combined.
