Track Templates

ModelRailroadForums.com is a free Model Railroad Discussion Forum and photo gallery. We cover all scales and sizes of model railroads. I remember a long time-ago that i saw a website that had HO scale templates for Atlas Code 83 track in real size that you could trace on your layout and plan it out then buy track. Anyone know where this is.

Don't know that Web site but I made several full size copies of a couple of Atlas Code 83 turnouts that I taped to my benchwork to check alignments and spacing - software never seems to be 100% accurate.

You could buy just one turnout of each size you want to use and then flip it over when you copy it to represent left and righthand TOs.

When I started out I did something similar to that.
I put a sheet of printer paper over the turnout and burnished the outline of the rails with a pencil lead. Rubbing a dirty track cleaning pad has the same effect. You can also photocopy a turnout upside down and make as many prints as you like.
