Track laying and Complex Curve tool

I was searching for a way to layout complex curves for my mainlines and backdrops . I could have printed out the whole layout but thats a lot of paper and toner.
Cost for the tool was just under $10.

I isolated the mainline in my CAD tool software and overlayed a 6 inch square grid.

locating a few points where the mainline crosses the grid , I then transfered those to the layout and staked them out with toothpicks .

Really, you could use pretty much anything springy, whether a wire, splines, lath, strapping, chimney sweeping sticks (the fiberglass poles you can screw together), even lengths of flex track with staggered joints to keep the kink out at a transverse joint. This looks like clever problem solving, and I'm glad you posted it.
