Pulled them out of storage and checked them out. Cleaned the wheels and they are ready for service on the new D&J Railroad. The sound is great.
Nice...
I bet a lot of people will never get to see a T55 loco...
There are a couple of the ES44DCs on e-bay right now. Bids will probably be up over $300 when they close.
Awesome! I have 4 myself, so far. One H2, one New Image and two I'm painting to New Image.
real nice, wish I had one
Great model. I wish they would make GEVOs in N scale.
Pair of SP T55/Overland ES44DC locos
Does someone have a dwg, diagram, description as to how to get the shell off of these Tower 55 models??
Just today I acquired two Southern Pacific ones that are like brand new, but the lighting on one unit is not working. They both run fine on DC, but I don't currently have DCC to check them out.
I'd like to see if it's just a loose connection in the one unit as it does appear that the number board lighting fixture is dislodged.
I may put the on Ebay as a consist pair since they are different numbers. They are marvelously detailed models and smooth runners, but I'm more steam oriented.
Remove the coupler pockets then lift the shell off.
I had a problem with mine that the sound worked but the motor didn't run. Turns out that the plug on top of the primary board was slightly pulled out.
You will find two boards in there. One on top of the motor and the second one on the ceiling of the shell above the motor.
Remove Shell
Remove the coupler pockets then lift the shell off...
I suspected those might be the culprits, but was not sure. Thanks I will try that later this evening.
