Looks like it's embedded in the pavement with a cover. It also appears that it only switches one rail.

It is in the street just to the right and perpendicular to the tracks. I can't tell if the switch has one or two points. Some old streetcar tracks had only one.

Probably a tongue switch...Crew has a pole which goes in some slot and aligns a single point rail against running rail..
Are, or were some still in S. Alameda St. in Los Angeles ...

This is the little tower that is in the end of the video.
If you look through all the dates, you can see the tower was repainted sometime after 2008 and actually had its door open in one street view.

Wow ! I had no idea those towers were still standing anywhere !! Now I won't feel guilty if I put the Atlas one on my next concoction !!
