old school
anyone every build some Tichy Train Group cars.

looking at buying some of the 6 pack cars from micro mark. If you would compair them to other mfg who would they stand next to.

not intrested in finding they might be like the P2K kits as there is way to much detail on those and the detail parts always seam to fall off :o

I love their kits!!! they have plenty of detail on them I would probably compare them to Branchline or Red Caboose!

hmmm never built a red caboose or branchline... how much detail compaired to a P2K kit? All I really have ever built in the last 20 years is BB athearn a few round house and P2K.

the P2K kits in my opinion are over board with detail. I box and take all my rolling stock to the club. I find alot of the P2K detail parts falls off after lots of handeling

They will put athearn bb and roundhouse to shame! They have just as much detail as a p2k kit! Its been awhile since I put a p2k together! Which Tichy cars were you looking at? I am almost finished with the Boom car now and finished the 120 ton crane about a month ago!!

The crane has a ridiculous amount of detail but it does look nice when finished

I was looking at the Micro mark Catalog and they have the 6 packs of cars for $67

Im looking at the 40' box cars and the Cement hoppers (steam era)

thanks... I did not see the link for instructions on their site..great price for the detail you get but I dont think they will take the abuse that I want them too.

I liked the old BB kits as they were easy to build, no parts to fall off, I can put 100 of them in a box to take down to the club and not worry about parts in the box after the car ride... Oh well accurail looks like the closest to the BB kits for me..

Thanks
again

I have a few of their kits and do like them. They look very nice when finished.
