Finally Pan Am went out and bought some new power!!!!!! 4 SD40's from KCS/TFM. I wish i knew what number these units are going to be. i have a bb athearn waiting to be decaled. i was going to number it as the 600 MEC but now ill wait

All of them are various engines in the SD40 series in various carbodies, but all rebuilt to SD40-2s.

Pan Am Railways (Operator of Springfield Terminal Railway, Maine Central, and Boston and Maine) bought 15 KCS and TFM SD40-2s from KCS.

The ones that have already arrived were patched with primer (yes, primer, they were too cheap to use real paint) and were renumbered and are now in service.

Most of the six axle units they have are either in there deadline or HLCX units. the only two older sd's i think they run are sd26's

at least there is primer on these units most of them they paint right over the old road and rust and it bleeds threw in a few years
