The San Miguel Central RR.

I started the staining of the wood.
I use Saman #202 water based stain.

When dry it will get a light wash of dark grey as well.
I think it makes a good old wood color.

I have some Grandt line On3 passenger trucks that I decided to build.
I replaced the plastic On3 wheels with metal On30 wheels.

They run extremely smooth!
Now I'll have to build the car to fit on top of them....

I've started building the upstairs walls of the pool hall/saloon/hotel:

The framing is built up of wood, the siding on the back wall is scribed sheet.
The side walls are to be corrugated metal and the front wall board by board.

Hi all!
I'm currently rebuilding my layout from HOn3 into On30.
And the western part of it needs a nice eyecatcher.
As a big fan of the game "Red dead redemption 2", I have found a lot of inspiration there.
What really caught me was the town of Annesburg and the mine there.

It will require some selective compression to fit, and also some alterations.
But it will sure be a big building in O scale.

I received a package today, a late birthday gift or early Christmas present to myself.
Birthmas anyone?
A lot of On30 locomotives and other bits....

I surely has something to do during the holidays!
Online retail therapy is a good thing. Reading what you started here just has my mind going. I have a couple pieces of On30 I was going to build around. I pretty much have put that aside but will happily be following your journay

Started construction of the upstairs interior on the Saloon.
All made out of matte board.

The doors are not 3 dimensional, but have the relief painted on.

The floor and inner walls are removable downward so I can glue the roof in place and still be able to service the interior.

With some 3D printed furniture and nice lighting, it will look quite convincing.

Progressed a little bit on the construction.
Everything is built so the upper part of the building is relatively easy to disassemble from the main building, the upper floor and the Saloon interior needs to have easy access to the lighting.

I had to change the construction of the porch roof a bit to make it more durable.

Here the upper floor is lifted off.

The upper interior can also be lifted out to access the saloon interior.

It took a few adjustments to make every connection tight, but not too good ....
