The greenbrier logging and coal co

Since i used that stub siding for the engine house i made another stub siding. There was just enough room for it. Nice place for the snow plow.

One of the things in my last few layouts was the tunnels. So much of the views of the trains is lost to tunnels on this layout. The logging camp and track to and from it are fine. Its the main line that bugs me. I am still wondering what i can do to allow less tunnels. I am thinking of leaving most of the tunnel where the town is, But opening up the whole side of the logging camp. That means loosing the mountain on the left. Make like a island for the logging camp on the left and allowing the main line to be out on the views. That would let me see around 60% of the main line. Not sure on this yet, But was one of my main issues with tunnels. Real lines back in the day didn't have very big tunnels. Once the track is past the town i am trying a way yo open the main and allow the logging camp line have a bridge that can go over the main. Opening that up as well so not as much tunnel on the town side. Now that is going to be my next part of the layout and will be leaving the yard intact so don't really need much track changes but for the line heading up to the logging camp. Will see how this works out. This will be a new layout idea so its to be made layout #6. Its my 6th layout with the same sawmill and logging camp along with the same name. More t be shown later.

Here is one plan i like! It don't require much major changes on the right side of the layout. Here is the snapshots from Scarm.

A quick shot of the fun. Am not sure if it will need changing a bit more. Its rough. That little trestle needs to be around 1 1/2 inch longer. No big deal. I will be adding 8 inches to the big trestle. Still looking at the logging camp. Not sure about it yet. Some shots below. Sorry about the mess. Using the smaller pieces to support the logging camp and the track.

I can't figure out how i want the back side. Also i will need a small hill for gaining access to trees. So, I need to figure out how i want it to go. Will let you know when i figure it out.

Well, I found out i screwed up with size of layout board. I made it 32 inches...go figure. I am going to add the othr 4 inches to it and that will really help out the back of the layout. More later.

Heres the good bad and ugly of this mess! Final size will be 97X36 inches

Coming along nicely Mr. Smoke!
Love the branch line up the hill, guessing they push the cars up?

Taking my time. I just don't fill right. The weather is most of it. Sinus is the rest. Both are affecting my sleep. I have finished how the logging yard will be laid out Ready for another set of wires for the one turnout on the logging camp. Also are ready to wire for power to track. Its been working with the Scarm plan. I am going to tear out the mountain on the right side back. The track is going to be going back more. Doing that will help for the trestle across the river and add a place for the tunnel and that way they will cross over each other. Some shots of the logging track placement.
