Sorry i haven't been around but i have been working on the truck. major junk that needs to be retired but i don't want that for her. Having fuel system and timing issues. it takes more time to get the parts than the actual work. I did rebuild the throttle-body, but its not nice. One of the injectors is leaking so i am waiting for another to get here by mail. I think i need new spark plug wires and i need to replace part of the fuel line, and then there is the weather...I get the truck running again, and i can start working on the layout again.
Thanks for checking in. It's good to know you are okay, even if the truck is not.
I wish you all the best!
i finally broke down and got rid of the truck and bought a car that seems to be ok. I have had it a month so far with no main issues. hope that continues.

I do too! Good to see you.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful Merry Christmas!! We had a nice one this year! Still have leftover ham so New Year eves dinner will be leftovers.
I am waiting till after the tree comes down and then i move a bookcase and the videos into that space. That will give me the room i need to move the train layout out so i can work on the back side and do some cleaning of the track. I will finish the coal mine area, then I need to do a modification to the tunnel under the logging camp area.
its always something... Lets have a great new year.
Yes, it’s good to see you!
Hoping for a great new year, buckle your seatbelts cause 2026 is going to be a hell of a ride! LOL
Great to hear from you! Have a happy New Year!
Hope all are well. Rico, you are right!!
Man, time flies when you are busy. I got a honey do list that will take me all summer to complete!! I haven't tried much to the layout. I got to cut off 3 inches on the side and make a 90 degree cut off the back corner. Then i might be able to get the layout away from the wall so i can finish the track. wire it and do testing of the turnouts back there. Somehow i will fit it in between honey do things...
Its getting pretty warm here in Texas so i got a short time of getting things done outside. i hope i can get the cutting done so i can finally get the track done! this winter i just looked at the layout and run a train around and that was about it for me. I did finish the fire tower and the cabin. All the buildings are finished, but there not on the layout.
So, thats about it for this month. can't believe its almost April and Easter is right around the corner. Will update when i get started up on the railroad.
hehe, I got the time and shot the honey do list to a back burner so i can do the part of the layout that needs "fixing". I found my Jigsaw and got that done so i can work on wiring and scenery. shots below, Smokey

works real good! I was behind the layout working on it last night. I have to shift the table a couple of inches to allow full support of the foam-board. I also got the engine and cars out of the tunnel thats been there for over a month. Yes i work real slow!

I have fallen in love with foamboard as a base material, it is so versatile.
As long as its pink or blue it is strong. Around here there is pink only. But its strong. I use two inch and it is strong enough to move around and not that easy to break. Its easy to drill for wiring too.
I have been giving my old layout the death march as i started tearing it down. The Greenbrier RR is dead and gone. 12 years and i just can't work it right so i am going with another track plan from back in 2009. Some of my older cd's and dvd's of that rr are corrupted and no longer play anymore. I have got about 30 some pictures that i was able to download into the computer. Its a line that went from the town of San Manuel Arizona to Hayden Arizona. They called it the Smarrco rr. It is all up and down hill with gradual grades and no tunnels. I will have to use all the trestles and bridges. all the track and i may have a few turnouts left over. Its desert so not many trees. I will have to find a bunch of desert trees and bushes. The biggest thing is changing the name of my layout. I used greenbrier for like 10-11 years and now i am going with another name. Smarrco rr is what the new layout will be so i guess i will make a new name and thread and go with that. Mod's give input please. Have some pic's of the teardown below

Smokey, as much as I have enjoyed this layout, I am really looking forward to your new plan.
I have to do something to make it easier for me. My hands are sore for the last two days. Deb is helping me too. We both lived in San Manuel, Arizona and saw first hand the demo they did to the mine and smelter. Its a easier plan than what i had. no tunnels but i will need the bridges and may have to make more trestles for it. I am saving as much of the track and turnouts for the new layout. Saves me money for now.I almost went with the plan for it before. I didn't have the room at that time. i do now.Anyway, will check in later. Thanks for the pep talk. I need them!!
