The forgotten RR

I never see much about Amtrak in the model RR world. I needed a couple of more modern units for my era, so I went with the P40/P42. These are blue box kits with a few added parts. 2 are powered, 1 dummy. Please add your Amtrak units!!

Genesis SDP40F This locomotive dates back to when working at Amtrak was cool. I was just out of the box. BTW: Athearn has just announced a Genesis P42 release.

I don’t recall seeing that paint scheme on the first loco before Jerome.
Here’s an old photo taken just before the Fuerst Matthes mill #1 came down.

Not models, but an unusual sight in Montana and as I recall, just before AMTRAK stopped offering this service to private car excursions. Climbing the eastern side of Bozeman Pass with the AAPRCO excursion, with MRL assistance.
