Just received this news, which I had already figured that they would do.

There will be 16 colors moving over to the Model Master Acrylic line from Polly Scale. They will be color matched to the Polly Scale line, but not guaranteed to be exact matches, as the formulations are different. They will be in 1/2 ounce bottles and retail for $3.69. They are all flat colors. Currently scheduled for a September delivery.

.... and for those of us who don't like water-based paint ?

Hopefully, these colors will transfer to their Model Master line of enamels as well.

Mark.

I'm with Mark on this. When users move to a brand of solvent based paints other than Floquil / Testors and get accustomed to them it would seem that if Testors did bring the RR colors back it could be too late. If I've gone and bought 20 or 25 bottles of TruColor or other brand at $4 plus per bottle and then one day Testors re-appear on the shelves I am not going to go back. They snooze, they lose. Last time I used water color paints was in 4th grade art class.

I have a feeling that the whole Floquil/ Polly Scale thing is simply a consolidation into the Model Master series and not whatever that announcement said.

Hopefully with the RR colors moving the the Model master line they will be easier to get in my neck of the woods. The local (Canadian) hobby shop wouldn't bring the Poly-s or Floquil paints but maybe they will bring the MM paints in. I do wish that Rust and Dirt were among those colors. I use them a lot for weathering. I am happy that they will be acrylic, since I switched from enamel (solvent) based a couple years ago.

And $3.69 for a 1/2 bottle! Are they totally nuts or just flat out greedy?
I wish! I bought a 1/2 oz. bottle of Model master Guards red from My local shop last weekend, cost me $5.50
