Pretty good pictures, Trent. They are a little dark and the depth of field needs to be increased to keep everything in focus. I'm assuming you're using a tripod so try increasing the exposure by 1/2 a second and see if you don't capture more detail. Try using an f stop of 8.0 to increase the depth of field.

If your camera has a Aperture Priority (Av or A) setting, switch to that and select the biggest number you can. That will get you the most depth of field possible. It will make your shutter very, very slow so you will definitely need a tripod to do this. But the brightness issue will be reduced and more of the scene will be in focus.

But be careful, photography itself can be as addicting as model railroading!
