Looking to build my first railroad in awhile. Going to make it n scale cause I have limited room. After looking at a couple dedicated Layout CAD programs I think I'm going to stick with AutoCAD, just for the versatility. Anyway I'm looking for Dimensions on switches from the various manufactures so I can correctly draw them. Anyone know where I could find that info?

Good luck. What size switches, what brand, what number switch, what code size is the track. The diverging angle is not standard between companies and even within different lines of the same company. I have no idea of any place on the web where you can find this information in one place. The best suggestion is to go to each company's web site and see if you can dig out the information.

Are you sure you want to use AC compared XtrkCAD, which had most of the correct switch dimensions and angles already built in?

Also with AC you are inventing the wheel with everything, while XtrkCAD has everything automated. Plus you can import AC objects into XtrkCAD if you find it falls short.

Okay, sounds like I've got some measuring to do then. I like absolute control so I'm going with AutoCAD, plus I have the option of linking with 3ds max if I want to.
