Swapping Athearn for Kato Sideframes (or trucks)?

So, I've got a devious question, if there is one...

Kato makes a GE "Early" Hi-Ad side frame that is needed for a model of BNSF 653, that I'm working on. I looked at the way the side frames are built, and it seems like it might be a ton of work to use the Kato frames on the Athearn truck. Has anyone done so? How about using Kato trucks on an Athearn frame?
 
Well heck, I post the topic, then my brain clicks. I'm working on BNSF 617 & 653 right now, for myself, and logic did not say, just swap which road number each will be!

I was going to do the Kato, as #617, with now has "late" Hi-Ad trucks. The Athearn would have been #653, which has early. Kato makes the only early trucks, that I know of.

Logic just said to me, Make the Kato #653, and the Athearn #617. :cool:

Anyways, I'd still like to know if anyone has swapped.
