Does anyone know what happened to a building kit called...
I think  ....Superior Laundry ? It was a great building ! You can make so many things with this building and I wish I could get two of them today. Any chance of them making it again ?

Larry

OOPS I meant to put this on general discussions....oh well

Oh, Superior Bakery, the AHM, Heljan, Revell kit? IDK, I think it virtually fell of the face of this earth..I've never seen one new, although I do own an already built one.

Why don't You look in the Faller, Fleishmann or Vollmer line & you can probably find the same building, but, under a diff. named structure.
I buy a lot of stuff from Micro Macro Mundo in Miami, Fl. that sells all of these brands & then some.

Was it called Superior Bakery instead of Laundry?

YES! You're right ! Bakery it was ! Funny how our minds work. I used to walk to grade school back in the 1950's and I walked by a building that looked very much like that kit only longer. It was a commercial laundry.

My Great Uncle owned a bakery when I was growing up and boy the smell of that bakery still lingers in my mind nowadays .

Yep, Superior Bakery was one of line bought out by Revell in the early 60's. It is the same basic structure as the Revell Weekly Herald and the Revell Engine House. The only thing wrong with them is that they are huge structures so they take up a lot of real estate. Still, I couldn't have a layout without a Weekly Herald building. :) Those things are not cheap any longer. I think that Heljan last produced it and sold it through Con-Cor in the mid-80's. The level of detail still stands up well to modern structures.

Does anyone have a picture of the front of the Weekly Herald? Mine came without the decals for the building front and I'm having a devil of a time finding a picture so I can make decals.

I recently acquired a Heljin Superior Bakery, N scale, new in the box, which I bought because it looked like it had 'possibilities' for other uses. But I don't have a specific use for it. So if anyone would be interested in purchasing it from me, make me an offer.

Bakery

Well I did manage to win two Superior Bakery's on ebay :) and I didn't pay a lot for them. They were in unopened boxes and everything was there except the decals were in degraded condition from age. I'm combining the two kits into one building. When I'm finished I'll post pictures in, showin' off
