Greetings all ... the info on this forum is like gold!

I am a newbie and have some newbie questions that I hope someone here can help me with.

I am going to dig out my HO scale set that soon and start rebuilding it. I've had it in storage for a couple of years and feel the need for a "project".

As someone who is fascinated with PD and FD vehicles in 1/87 scale, I bought 4
of these:

My questions are as follows:

(1) Is there a "how-to" on how to install strobe LED's, list of materials, how to get power to it, etc ... (especially for the low-profile light bar)? Ideally I would like the light bar and headlights to work.

(2) I am not very familiar with PoliceCarModels.com, but will be shopping there soon. Do they have a working strobe bar I could just use to replace the one that comes with the car? I looked at http://www.policecarmodels.com/187lightbars.html and didn't see one that appears to be of the same quality/profile as the one that comes on the car.

Any additional advice or guidance you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

The best hope you have for lightbar lighting that's even close to the one on the Charger is http://www.policecarmodels.com/miliflsyforp.html. You'll have to remove the lightbar and ream out the interior with a Dremel tool. The small LED's will just barely fit but you'll have almost no material left after you ream out the interior and you'll likely end up breaking the lightbar. The dummy lightbar on the Charger looks really good because it's so low profile but that's the downfall if you try to light it. Although they don't look as nice, I'd get the light bars at http://www.policecarmodels.com/ho1liset3.html and use the LED's in them. They come in pieces and are relatively easy to light.
