Hello everyone. I have a quick question about two specific steam locos that I'm looking to purchase for my layouts. For my Eastern layout I'm looking at Walthers Proto 2-8-4 and for my Pacific Northwest layout a Bachmann 4-8-2. Both are undecorated as I run my own fictitious railroad, Hidden Mountain. My question is, does anyone own these and know if they will fit on the Atlas turntable? I believe it is 7 1/4" in diameter and I'm not sure if they will fit on to my layout.

Here are links to the two items:

Thanks for the help.

I measured by Bachmann light 4-8-2 and it is 6 1/2" long. I don't own the 2-8-4 or the Atlas turntable so I can't help with there lengths.

usually the average steam loco is 100' scale foot long including tender, thats why they do 130' turntable and 90' turntable (intended for diesel/small steam). The atlas one is closer to the 90'. I read online that the 2-8-4 is limit to fit on it

Thanks both of you. The info is greatly appreciated. My layout that will hold the 4-8-2 is set to be done first, so I'm excited that it should fit just fine and it's to hear that the 2-8-4 should fit as well. Thanks a ton.
