G'day all ....Been checking out a growing number of Big Boy vids on You Tube of late from about as far away as you could get ..With the Northern Hemisphere summer on the way and 4014 will be earning his keep , does anybody plan to have a proper look at this magnificent thing ?

Some of those YewToob vids are pretty good! The comments on those clips will predictably tell us how the BB was THE biggest, fastest, most whatever. UP should be commended on doing such a nice job. Now if only the Virginia Museum of Transportation could keep 2156 and get that Y6a running again.

I think UP are going to re reno the Challenger 3985 next too though. Although U.P. isn't my favourite U.S. Railroad , although I still like them a lot I do admire how they embrace their heritage units . I'll have to look up the 2156 thing and Y6a...not too familiar with them . Cheers..

Few years ago, got to ride a train pulled by the 844. Supposedly, the 4014 will be in Omaha for the College World Series, will definitely go down town to see it if that happens.

I went down to Wyoming to watch the BigBoy and 844 on its journey out Ogden. I setup at two locations, a road crossing west of Harriman, Wyoming and at MP601 near Rock River. Here are some of my photos.

I setup about 3 hours ahead of time for the first two shots. The third I arrived about 30-45 minutes before the train got there.

Well worth it......Great shots. I wish BNSF did Heritage in a bigger way too .. Maybe one day .
