Here's a cold storage warehouse I'm scratch-bashing to fit into a corner.
The trucks at the loading dock will throw a wrench into switching for the crews just like down town...:p

Ivy Moving and Storage hides a corner where one part of the mainline pierces a wall. It is difficult to tell (intentionally) but these are two separate structures. Here are both buildings on the layout temporarily since we still need to finish the ceiling. The loading dock is intended to be a much older building than the warehouse. Both buildings are scratch-built using styrene sheets. I used blue Styrofoam and latex caulk to stiffen the walls and prevent warping. More Styrofoam supports the roadbed in the warehouse building.

This kinda reminds me of Ian Wilson's book on "steam over Palmerston"---the layout in Owen Sound was chock a block with issues like the one you placed here--there was even issues with ppl parking their cars in the narrow alleys hence forcing drivers to leave their keys in the ignition so's the conductors could move the dang cars out'n the way!!:D:D:D

Here's two that will be in a narow area along the trainroom wall.

Imperial Foods with a fire escape added to left side and a couple of extra roof vents.

Arrowhead Ale also has added roof details.

Have 4 more on the bench being built for the same area. Some will have platforms for train loading and others will represent just the back side of a building served by trucks along a different side of the building.

I found this old photo from an N scale layout I had about 8 years ago…(sorry about the quality - VERY old digital camera!)

This was a chemical plant that I bashed from leftovers from various Walthers & DPM kits…
The entire complex was around 3 feet in length, & 3 inches deep…
