Can someone please tell me how to get the shell off of a BLI AC6000...without tearing up other detail parts and the railings? Please
And I assume this is suppose to be relatively simple as you might just need to get in their and reset the decoder to factory #3

....... (rather than placing a reset button under the removable fan housing)

I never took the shell off my ac6000 bli, but i imagine its alot like taking the shell of the bli sd40-2 i did take the shell off. pretty standard--remove the coupler pockets and screws, grasp the fuel tank and gently pull up. There is no reset button on the Bluelines as in the Paragon 2s. Its all reset by programming, specifically programming on the main.
If your looking to just reset your decoder (the 8 pin plug is accessable by taking off the top of the radiator section at the back), put in your decoder, put the loco on your track and make sure you 'program on the main' also known as OPS Programming. The key here is that you have to get both your 8 pin motor decoder and the BLI's sound decoder on the same address. So refrain from programming the address on your motor decoder until you preform a reset on both. This will ensure they are both set to address 3.
So back to the programming 'on the main'/OPS Mode Programming. To reset the BLI's sound decoder to factory settings and therefore Address 3, program CV 8 to 8. Then follow the instructions on your mobile/motor decoder to perform a factory reset. (I have a NCE N14IP in mine and the reset is CV30=2). Now all you have to do is go back to programming on the main, and program both decoders to whatever address you want. They should both respond as one now.
Hope this helps and was what you were asking.
