Making a road trip with the family this spring and Santa Fe is kinda along the path. Is there anything worth seeing there with regard to trains, train museums, displays etc? How involved was the city of Santa Fe with the Santa Fe RR?
TIA,
Eric
other than the name, very little of the ATSF railroad had anything to do with the town. It served as an early end point of sorts in the plans but actually bypassed the town when built.

However, the local museums are likely (I have never been to any there) to be full of ATSF-related stuff as most smaller towns are quite proud of any well-known namesakes.
Trains or not, the area is fabulous for scenery and history.
