Here are some Photos from our weekend trip to Sandwich IL. March 14th. This rail car was in Teddy Roosevelts 1912 Bull Moose Presidential Campagin. It is now Kelly,s Restaurant and Pub on IL. Rt. 34 in the heart of Sandwich. The Photos are not the best but my brother took most of them and neither one of us are near to being professionals.

That had to be fun. Are the windows, interior walls, and ceiling original or are they a something added? Looks like some true craftsmen were at work.

Larry;

Looks like someone tried to turn the railcar into a facsimile of the CB&Q Zephyr. I assume this was CB&Q country?

And of course, while in Sandwich...

wait for it.....

you ate a sandwich!!!!:D:p:p:p

Good pictures!!

RexIt looked original to me but also could have been done after the car was set in Sandwich.
CareyThe craftsman ship was very very good and the stained glass windows are original. This was a CB&Q car at its inception so the Zephyr resemblance is true to the car. No sandwich on this day it was Corned Beef and Kraut as it was close to St. Pats Day and there is tradition you know.

boc CB&Q built the car or had or built in the beginning, I do not know who put the car in Sandwich nor do I remember when it was place there.
