Have a great day! ;)

Thank you for all the good thoughts/vibes/karma/prayers, etc. I've been hesitant to mention it, but it looks like my search for a permanent residence is over. I close Tuesday on a home for myself. It isn't much bigger than a tiny home, but it's not a relative's RV. Withlacootchee Electric Coop is the name of the local power company. And yes, speel chekker is going nuts with that name...

Well, howdy there internet peeps and those wondering what Louis's neighbors put in those greens to get him that tall.
It's Troy again

Congrats to Terry on the new diggs.

Game day today, so I'll be out this morning. Spent the last half-an-hour tweaking my list up to 2000 pts.

This will be maybe the last outing with this army in its current form. They get major rules revisions this thursday from the game designers. That means I won't want to play them for a good month until the rules revamp are figured out by smarter people than me. So I need to get Army #2 up to snuff. Looks like three more untis to build and paint.

Unlike MRR, there is an end in sight (eventually) if I can manage to just stick with these two armies.

Good morning crew. 71°F/68°F here. I managed to get through the day without the A/C yesterday. I ran a box fan starting about 1400 in the kitchen window to draw cooler air from the front of the house to the rear. The kitchen faces south and is the hottest room in the house. It's nice in winter but not so much in summer. After the sun set I moved it to the living room and had it blowing on me until bedtime.

Since they once again have mis-guessed the forecast, I will likely run the A/C today with the dewpoint as high as it is. Temps in the high 70°Fs by next Sunday. It was supposed to be Tuesday, but they can't forecast weather any better than I can with two years of meteorology under my belt, and they with four or more years.

The Lenovo T520 gave me no more trouble yesterday after fixing the ExpressVPN installation issue. It started normally this morning at 0600 and has been humming along perfectly for an hour and a half now. The T520 really is still a kick-a$$ machine for it's age.

You all have a great Sunday now, y'hear!

Good morning to the short, real sized and tall people.

Terry congrats on the new house

My Wisconsin weather is 64f degrees, currently with extreme fog heading to 82 later

Grandson has a soccer game at 10:45 and maybe after I will take the Crew to lunch

Golf at 2:30 and dinner with the brother and his group after. I played decently yesterday and had a good time. Only lost a few $$$ yesterday but looking to make it up today. The golf for Monday is cancelled as the guys don’t want to drive 90 minutes to play. They will fly after dinner tonight to Arizona but I’m staying here. The brother on Tuesday goes to Mayo Clinic in Phoenix/Scottsdale for his final physical before he has his hip surgery. I thinks he’s dumb playing golf with the very obvious pain he’s in but that’s his choice.

It’s NFL Sunday and my schedule has little available time to watch any of it. Here’s hoping the Bears and Steelers win and everyone loses…

Have a good day

Congratulations!

Will you have at least a little space for modeling and the layout?

I made the mistake of running one time. Not faster than the foot that launched me across the room into the far wall.
I remember when my sister was a teenager. She lipped off to my mom, and dad tool off chasing her up the steps. She had a head start so he tried to take 2 steps at a time and tripped resulting in a broken big toe. We all loaded up and headed for the ER and had dinner out on the way home. It was pretty touchy!

Yea, good times. We still laugh about it when we all get together.

Good morning,

64 and mostly sunny, breezy.

Tom, I hate Lima beans too.

Coffee. Starbucks Italian roast only, purchased 4 x 18 Oz from Amazon. Instant Folgers would be acceptable in a pinch, or Tasters Choice. At Casey's convenience store, it's Colombian.

Finish my plate? Yes. Always

Discipline. Wait till Dad gets home.

Beautiful early fall day here! Thank God!

Good Morning All. Mostly clear and 71° to start this fine day. Forecast is still mostly the same for the next 10 days, sunny, warm and dry. The NWS is saying maybe rain 9 days from now, but that's a long way off weather-wise and their accuracy here is quite questionable. It's rather dry right now, but unlike Tom, we're not behind on rainfall for the year; thanks to a very wet May this spring. But we expect less, YTD is 26" so far, an average year is 33".

I put a new chain on the chainsaw yesterday and did 2-40 minute sessions cutting a couple of piles of stored dry branches up. Overall yield yesterday was about 5 days worth of firewood to heat the whole house. I already have about 75% of this winter's needs stacked up and there's many more branches stored from last year's tornado that just need to be trimmed. In between I raked up grass clippings for mulch and compost for next year's garden. Spent over an hour in the pool to refresh afterwards. It's a pleasant surprise that the water temperature has come back enough to use it for a few more days. Wife tried to talk me into putting the cover on it around Labor Day when it became too cold to use. I resisted with good results. Rewarded myself with a grilled 2" Rib Eye picked up off the Manager's Special sale counter last week. $4.79 for a 1.4 lb. boneless steak. I sauteed some mushrooms, and had a garden salad and air-fried french fries to complete the meal.

Typical Sunday ahead for me today. Church, emptying the dishwasher and bed linen laundry top the list. I might get some more firewood cut if it stays cool enough to find time after Mass. We'll see what else jumps on to the list.

Out in the train shed yesterday, guess what I found, the elusive sanding sticks.
1757853974650.jpeg

Now if I could remember why I was looking for them.
Among other items that I found was this battered freight car from a very old Bachmann train set that I had bought my son back in the early 90's.
1757853974904.jpeg

No wheels on it but I would have to replace them anyway.

I plan to rehab it since I am a hoarder and don't throw anything away. Let's see, body-mounted couplers are in order. I have that covered as I bought many 4-packs of Kadee #5's years ago and they all came with coupler boxes...which I saved of course!

Not sure when I will start, but it will be a welcome distraction to some other projects.

Swal - I am right up there with you regarding diet and health issues. While none of it seems to help my heredity driven hypertension, all other parts seem to be working fine.
Tom O - Regarding disconnecting from the Internet, my downfall is this forum. I'll read about something and then look up other information about it, which leads to another and another etc. I do not have a Facebook or any other social media account, although I do use MSN to find interesting news feeds.
Hughie - Fall in this part of the state can vary by year. High temperatures are still in the upper-80's all of the way through Christmas, the variance is usually in the rainfall. Of course it always chills down at Halloween for the kiddos in their flimsy costumes.
Terry - Good luck with the potential move.
Mike - Chatty Cathys indeed. There were nearly 100 posts yesterday.

Forum gave up on me earlier so I don't know if anything is missing in my post.
Everybody have a super Sunday.

Good morning all!

After yesterdays post about really looking like rain but seeing none on the radar. It opened up about a half hour later with a pop up thunderstorm. It only lasted around 15 minutes. Pretty impressive lightning and thunder with it. Very close to us. Currently its 71F heading up to a high of 86F.

Have a few things to do around the house today. Not sure if I will mow. The lack of moisture this year really has my front and sides still fairly brown and not growing a whole lot. The back is more in the shade so its still fairly green and growing. Its the only area that really needs it. With no rain this week in the forecast it wont grow too much more so I might wait till later in the week.

Will defiantly see the train room today! It has been a week since Ive visited for any length of time.

Have a safe day everyone!

Good morning, Everybody!

I worked this morning, and I already had a nap.

I'm looking forward to watching the Ravens host the Browns at 1pm. Having had a nap, I might even get to see the entire game live!

Later my Birds take on the Blue Jays again in Toronto at 1:37. I will watch the replay of that game when I wake up.

For now, I have the Nationals on TV live, hosting the Pirates, this Sunday's early MLB game.

Life is good, God Bless Us Everyone!

Did you see where Anthony Rizzo came back to the Cubs yesterday as a one day Ambassador, so he could retire a Chicago Cub?

He almost caught Moisés Ballesteros’ first career home run ball. It bounced off his hand into another fans hand. What are the odds?

Cool thing was he sat in the bleachers surrounded by fans to watch the game. I imagine he will be around Wrigley Field quite a few
times in the coming years. Huge part of the 2016 World Series team! Even when he got traded to the Yankees, he would get a standing
ovation when he came to play at Wrigley!

I did!

How cool was that?

I liked seeing the fan next to him with a Rizzo Cub's jersey on.

You got to love Wrigley and the Cubs' Fans! It is a real class place. Just don't do anything to interfere with the Cubs winning a playoff game. 🤪

It's a cool place to watch a game, but I'll be damned if I would have wanted to play the outfield in Wrigley! Who am I kidding? I would have loved to play there; I loved a challenge. That was back in the day when I could run like the wind. Now... forget about it!

I forgot to mention I saw lighted Halloween decorations this morning on my travels. I saw inflatable Slimer from the Ghost Busters, that freaky looking skinny guy from the Nightmare Before Christmas, the Peanuts gang, numerous Pumpkins and more!

I love the Holiday season! I get paid to drive around and look at all the cool decorations.

I can't wait to see the giant inflatable Stay Puft Marshmellow Man. He is my favorite Halloween decoration.

Good afternoon, all, and those checking out Terry with a la coochie. Who knew?
A very warm start to the day and 95 is the target temp predicted. Not sure what the wife has planned for the day.

Terry - congrats on the house. I'm sure living in something a little more substantial will be nice.
Louis - Though I didn't make 6' 9" I did make 6' 5". Being the tallest kid in the class meant none of the class bullies picked on me. I could eat the folks out of house and home. 10 sandwiches, was nothing, 30 pancakes, easy. My father once told my aunt that feeding me was "like feeding buns to a bear". The only thing I will not eat is parsnips.
Dave - "Wait till your father gets home", must have been in the "How To Be a Parent" handbook back then. Unfortunately, it has been redacted.

STAY SAFE
LATER
