Good morning all!

Not sure why Im up so early, but here I am!

Currently a cool 44F heading up to a high of only 67F/ Had to close the windows last night. The front came thru in the early evening
and the temps started falling pretty steadily. I will throw them open later this morning when it warms up some.

A few household chores to get done this morning but nothing to major.

Volleyball game tonight. It was supposed to be an away game but got changed to home yesterday. I guess the other schools gym was
being worked on and wasn't ready yet. We will take it!

Have a safe day everyone!

Morning all,

Got busy yesterday and didn't get back. Storms last evening wreaked havoc in the Wichita Metro. Golf ball sized and larger hail. My town just east got a little sprinkle and a great light show. Seems funny now that I got the roof redone this spring with a 50 year shingle, there hasn't been much hail in my part of town. We had bad hail on the south side of town (Not Wichita) mid-summer, but nothing larger than pea sized at my house.

While I still have 3 pages to read, Troy reminded me of an author who used DEATH as a character, and I really miss Terry Prachett's Discworld. And Terry, I hear DEATH has a thing for playing "Soul" music...

Be back when I catch up on my reading.

OK, caught up.

Supposed to be sunny today with a high of 80°. Gotta attend a volleyball game and middle school football as my middle granddaughter has 2 volleyball games and then is a cheerleader at the football game. Grandma wants to be as supportive as we can and since this is the server update weekend, I go home early. Good time to go out west.

I have to also work a couple hours tomorrow as we're making some configuration changes to our fiber network. I'm adding stuff in time for future growth. I finally figured out what's going on within our VPN. If one dials into the City hall firewall, you couldn't connect to the servers at PD and vice versa. After some reading, I have it working from City Hall to PD, but not from PD to City hall. I think I know what I need to do, but no time today.

Kevin: Happy Belated birthday. Hope it was a good one.

kgstakes: Good modeling of the station.

Try to BBL

59°F/57°F here this morning after the front went through overnight. Some locations got a little rain, mostly east of here. We didn't get much; my trash can lid and the back sidewalk is damp, but no puddles or dripping water anywhere.

I'm going to be grilling hamburgers and brats this morning before lunch time. I'm thinking I might need a flannel shirt or a sweatshirt this morning when I get out there.

Have a great day folks.

Good Morning All. Clear here and 67°. NWS is still predicting 101° today, 95° tomorrow and then only 78° for a high on Saturday.

Somewhat busy day yesterday with household stuff starting the day; the usual dishwasher chore, moved some furniture so my wife could tidy up behind it, and eventually cooked blackened salmon and cauliflower for supper. I mowed the back yard between the house and the pool and afterward spent some time in the pool itself. I had originally given up on using it any more this season but the water temperature is now 84°. On the down side, my over 20 year old iPod out in the train shed, finally died for good. It has been slowly dying for 2.5 years now.😠😢 Then my LH hearing aid went out! Wasn't a good day electronic-wise. That adds a hearing aid place stop to the weekly grocery trek this morning. It will be a tight schedule from there, as I don't have an appointment and I may have to wait in line which I may not have time to do. I have my next PT session early this afternoon but at least no yard work is planned for this hot day.

I did work in some time out in the train shed yesterday. Found a couple more freight cars that are on my "need pictures" list for the database. And along with my current mini-project of adding figures to structures, I am trying to add some details that I found in a box last week. Yesterday's project was an old fashioned soft drink box that I bought years ago, manufactured for JL Innovative Designs.

I intend to put them on the porch of this laser-cut General Store from Blair Line. First I had to repair some of that loose trim that I described yesterday. The only place left to put it was on the RH side in front of the Nehi sign. It's kind of a drag since I worked hard at getting that sign to look like it was actually painted on the store's front wall.

So I used Scenic Accents re-positionable glue in case I find a better location in the future. Now that I see this photo, I see that there is still a piece of door trim that needs adjustment.

Louis - Yes, slightly elevated BP has been normal for me for over 50 years. Medication keeps it somewhat in line, but there have been some issues as I have gotten older.
David - My prayers for Dawn continue.
John - I have only had racoon issues a couple of times in the 44 years that I have lived here. They just don't hang around here for long, 1-2 days at the most. I did have one for longer that I trapped and released about 10 miles away on an ATV playground.

Everyone have a great Thursday.

Good morning from chilled So. Central Wisconsin. It was 43f degrees at wake up or in real time 6:55am. Still going to bed between 11:30pm and 12:15am but suddenly sleeping much later. Today is the earliest I’ve waken in a few weeks. The high today should be 64!

The slot track testing went well yesterday. There were a couple connections that were loose and I did a work around. I looked yesterday afternoon and couldn’t find any, so I ordered via Amazon. Delivery today

Met and had dinner with my realtor. She’s projecting selling out the lots by Christmas. While thinking it’d be great to start another 4 foundations if the lots are selling she said why do the added expense? Answer, it’s a bigger profit. Terry and I will discuss it when she returns. I did talk to the excavation and concrete guy yesterday. He said he needs an answer on 10/1 to schedule the foundations if we do them in October. They can be done in November or December if the ground is frozen but would prefer not too even though it’d be more money for him.

Volleyball on campus tonight. I haven’t checked who Wisconsin plays. Terry’s normal fill in is her friend and my Endocrinologist but unavailable for tonight. She will join me for Friday’s game. The behind the house neighbor can’t make tonight and since it’s a school night neither grandkid can go. Still looking but I can go alone if I have to. None of my train guys are interested

I spent an hour on the layout yesterday but more pultzing then anything productive

Be well

Well howdy there internet peeps and those with ears.

It's Troy again.

A friend posted this, and it's stirring the pot as everyone complains about their spouses/partners. Willie may need to hang this up at home until his bionic ear is fixed...

Today was the day to take Lord Fuzzbutt back to the Vet for his monthly injection shot. No warm towel needed this time. He popped his head up once, gave a big NOPE! and huddled in the carrier despite having the top open.

The girls at the front desk said they look forward to my Chamberlain duties, announcing "Lord Fuzzbutt is here for his injection!"

In other news, I didn't hit the teeter table much the last few days due to the pulled muscle in the back, so now my warning toe is grumping that my sciatica is about to flare up. So, I need to hit the table, and do the nerve flossing pretty heavily for the next few days.

Not sure what else today will bring. We'll see.

Those details look really good Willie. I get small station details for my RhB line from a chap in Switzerland that makes this sort of thing specifically for SSB and RhB railroads and stations. Some of the details are station specific.

He has benches, several types of ticket machines, trash cans and ash trays, railings, sign holders and signs, a lot of catenary detail parts, etc. I love ordering from him, but the shipping is high.

This should be the last 90 degree day of the year. 70's and rain next week will be welcome. Japanese cucumbers are just about done, started harvesting spinach, mustard spinach, and we're still getting about 1/2 pint plus of strawberries every morning. I'm going to give the Okinawan sweet potato experiment another week or two, then dig them up and see what sort crop I have.

We have a vet appointment today. Sugar had 2 surgeries last year to fix torn ACL's. She hasn't been the same since and has aged drastically. We think it was all the anesthetic she had. We used a board certified canine orthopedic surgeon, but knew nothing about who did the anesthetic. Surgeries were only 4 months apart. We don't know if it's post surgical arthritic pain, too much anesthetic & lack of O2 during the surgeries, or possibly cancer. She's only 6-1/2. 10-12 years is their average life span. 8-10 is what our vet said when she saw her post surgical.

On a brighter note, I received an email from Bar Mills, on 9/1, about a Labor Day flash sale. 15% off all kits and no shipping. My idea is to combine the 2 kits into one industrial diorama.

I also have 2 tables at train swap meet later this month up in Battleground, WA. We'll see how much excess stuff I can get rid of.

Willie: Boy both you and me, except. Got out of the shower yesterday then put hearing aids back in. Could not hear sh.t from the left ear. OK, so clean the things with new wax filters. Still could not hear sh.t. Figured the aid was toast so got the old pair out. Same problem. WTF. Then it dawned on me to put the left in the right and visa-versa. Could not hear sh.t from the left ear even with the switcharoo. I usually use cotton swabs in the shower with a dab of soap on them, rinse and repeat. During my fretting and worrying I found out that you never use swabs in the ear canal. They can build up a 'mud' wall of wax on the eardrum. How long have I been using swabs? So, looked for the bottle of H2O2 with none to be found. Will go out and get one later and do a rinse/hold/rinse thing and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, off to the Doc I go.

BP: In my case it is usually 120/79 for the most part. It gets higher if I have pain. Case in point: Doc would not let me out of the exam room when I was above 140. Explained 'chiropractor next' and she looked at me funny. So got my bones bent and went back. 125/75, she just rolled her eyes.

If my BP is low, usually that means I am dehydrated somewhat. This is actually worse than high BP as it is an immediate problem. When low, the heart does not have the muscle power to pump blood in and out completely which leaves some blood in the chambers. AFib does this, don't ask me how I know. That blood can clot and you could have a whole new set of problems. There are other reasons for being low, just mentioning this.

As to dehydration I found some interesting additional signs that I could be low. Joint/muscle pain when there should not be, Slightly blurry vision; besides the normal - pinch and skin does not bounce back, haven't P'd in awhile, or not much P, mouth dry, no sweat...

Good Morning All!
54F @ 55% 102F later today. Have about 2 week of temps higher than 90, then it will be comfy for awhile.

HD really screwed up. Maria called them yesterday to get order status. After about 15 minutes, she found the order and said 'You are setup for curbside delivery, when will you be here?'. Maria pointed out the the 'free delivery' option was checked on each item, and then asked 'Why did you charge my V/MC for delivery if it was curbside?". After some hemming and hawing, we now have a Tue the 9th delivery between 0600 and 2000. Geesh. To bad they did not want a 'satisfaction' survey done after the call, they would have been blasted....

I was going to tell y'all a Time Traveler joke. Nobody liked it.

In Wisconsin the seasons have changed when instead of shorts I put the jeans on when inside the house. Trekked over to the KWIKTrip to purchase a Powerball ticket last night, nope didn’t win! I had shorts on. Got home and I was shivering in the 52f degrees. Today the jeans are on!
It’s currently 54f degrees which is 11 degrees warmer than this morning’s post I own no flannel shirts

It’s a sad still Summer day…
