Good morning gang!
64° and sunny, looking for a high later of 83°. Wonderful weather, and I'm stuck pulling another Saturday shift.

Oh well, at least I'm out in 6 hours. Then the lawn to contend with. I'm planning on being on my butt and in my recliner tomorrow. I need it!
My co-workers husband is still at the Trauma center. After several operations they have determined that he will never walk again. They are going to make some modifications to the house so that he can go in and out (its a split level). Also as a truck driver and a volunteer fireman those days are over. We've all banded behind out co worker telling her not to worry about coming back, focus on her husband. The next few weeks will tell the tale of recovery and adjustment. In the mean time between her husbands friends working on the house, support from the dealership, and the VFD, everyone is pulling together to support them.
New general manager for the store just walked in with 2 huge boxes of donuts!

Karl, when I was injured it was also a motorcycle accident from an unaware motorist running me down from behind.
My wife got the call from the police telling her, and she should probably not dawdle getting to the hospital because they weren't sure I was going to make it.
By the time she got there, and the had a chance to look at me, they decided I'd probably live, but I'd never walk again.
After a transfer to another hospital, and lots of treatment and surgeries, they decided I might walk, but it was too soon to tell.
After more time, they decided I would probably be able to walk short distances with assistance, but I'd be essentially disabled for life.
After even more time, and more procedures and treatment, they decided I'd probably be able to walk with a cane.
After yet more time, the doctor gave me an exam, and asked if I felt I could walk. I stood up, walked from one wall of his office to the other, pivoted, and walked back.
I've since gone back to work full time, walk, jog, and ride a bicycle, climb ladders, and do almost anything a "normal" person could do.
Obviously, everybody is different, but after multiple broken bones, and brain and spine/nerve injury, I decided I wasn't going to spen d the rest of my life in a damned wheelchair. Tell her not to give up, and not to let him give up.
